Welcome to the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection and congratulations on your move to Philadelphia! Philadelphia, also called Philly by residents and visitors alike, is the second-largest city on the East Coast and fifth-largest in the country, which means you are about to get the best experience of big city living. With that said, Philly is a metropolitan hub full of world-class entertainment options, restaurants, job opportunities and more, but you probably knew that since you decided to make Philly your new home. As you begin to settle into your new digs and start thinking about all the cool places you want to explore around the city, you may want to put those plans on hold for just a moment. The city has just above 1.5 million residents and over a quarter million people commuting into the city everyday to work, which means there are plenty of people around – and plenty of opportunities for someone to have a copy of your front door key! Not to say there are a million people out there in the city that have access to your new place, but chances are, someone out there may have the same set of keys, especially if it was the previous tenant or owner. With that in mind, here are three things you need to do as soon as you move in! 1. Swap Out The Locks One of the first things you should do when you move into your new place is swap out all the door locks. This simple and fast process is the easiest way to get peace-of-mind because it'll eliminate the thought of someone else having a copy of your keys. Just call up a reputable locksmith in Philadelphia to take care of the locks and you'll be good to go! 2. Install Deadbolt Locks In addition to swapping out the doorknob locks, you should also have the locksmith install a deadbolt for enhanced safety and security. A deadbolt can make a door more resistant to entry and adds another layer of protection between the actual doorframe and door. 3. Get Copies While you have the locksmith at your residence, ask him to make a few copies of all of your keys. Not only is it convenient, but you can keep a few spares in a safe place in the event you lose your main key. Once the locksmith is done, you can start enjoying and exploring the city! Also, if you own a vehicle, keep the locksmith's number saved in your phone because you never know when you might need them. In fact, you can find a car locksmith in just about every zip code including 19119, 19120, 19124, 19128 and 19129! Are you ready to experience life in the big city?

Deadbolts can't get installed by own that's why locksmith is needed to install those locks. They will fix it properly so that no one can break it in easily.
